Electrocardiogram (EKG or ECG)

An electrocardiogram is a test that measures the electrical activity of the heartbeat as it travels thru the heart. This impulse causes the heart muscle to squeeze and pump the blood thru and from the heart. The electrical could be normal, to slow, fast and/or irregular. This test is used to check for arrhythmias, heart failure, check the function of a pacemaker and much more.
